SHOWCASE RULES AND GAME FORMAT

Rules

 

All Teams will play 3 games. , All Games will be forty-four (44) minutes running time, comprised of two (2) twenty-two (22) minute halves. There will be a three (3) minute intermission between halves. Clock will be kept in a central location and start, halftime, second half start, and game end will be indicated by a central air horn.

 

Each team must have an adult coach (minimum of 21 years old) who will be in charge of team discipline and act as the team’s representative.

 

3-3-3 + Goalie, Regulation size field, Regulation size goal.

 

No body checks. You must play the ball. Incidental body contact when playing the ball will be allowed. Wrap checks and one handed checks will be watched closely and will be at the discretion of the REFEREE

Penalties are called and served as they are in regular field lacrosse. The scorekeeper releases penalized players when their served time has expired. Penalty time does not start until the penalized player takes a knee in the penalty box.

Because all games are running time we are changing the penalty time as follows:

1 Minute penalty = 1:30

30 second penalty = :45

 

After each goal there will be a Face-off.

 

No OVER TIME or SUDDEN VICTORIES WILL BE PLAYED

 

Maximum of FOUR long sticks on the field at a time. Stick Regulations for Varsity: BOX STICKS ARE ILLEGAL. All stick heads and handles must meet NCAA regulations (40-42 INCHES LONG OR 52-72 INCHES LONG; HEAD MUST BE 6 1/2 INCHES WIDE ACROSS THE TOP, BALL MAY NOT REST IN POCKET BELOW THE BOTTOM EDGE OF THE HEAD WHEN STICK IS HELD PAR-ALLEL TO GROUND, ETC).

 

NFHS Lacrosse rules apply except as specified

 

ANY PLAYERS OR COACHES INVOLVED IN A FIGHT WILL BE EXPELLED FROM THE TOURNAMENT. No second chances.  

 

Flagrant fouls: 1st offense - expulsion from game; 2nd offense, occurring anytime during tournament after first offense – expulsion from tournament

 

Any player who accumulates 3 personal fouls shall be disqualified from that game, but can play in the next game
